I too am looking for the same answer! Don’t mind these retards! They have nothing better to do or just want points for answering questions. I have looked on a few sites that say haiti adoptions are closed because everything is such a mess and they want to make sure that the displaced children are just that, displaced. What woudl happen if there parent(s) were alive and just lost. So they want to make sure they give it time. I am not for adopting children of another country BUT the way I see it is this. if this is the way I can help, I will. I have 2 of my own. IF we dont get these kids out of Haiti, when they are older are they gonna say “the Americans didnt want us” and have a hate on for us maybe, also when they become of age they will get on a raft and float over to the US out of desperation. I can not stand illegal immigration! So If they are gonna come, why not do it legally and while they are young. My husband is very smart and very hands on. if I adopt a haitian child who will learn from his parents then maybe when he is older he will go back to Haiti and do good! Build to code and take back something to the people of haiti! They need someone to teach them. Were doing it in iraq and afghanastan and those shits wanna kill us. So why not bring the knowledge to the Haitians. I live in South Florida so I see all the immigration here!

Anyway, if you find anything let me know! I think they need to move there asses on this. It takes about 10 months to adopt a child. I hope it goes faster with this situation. They just had a 6.1 today!

Do everyone a favor – there are enough poor American kids that deserve your time and money more than the Haitians.

I know how you feel. A long time ago, I read a story about a young boy in Africa who desperately wanted to study but couldn’t because his family was desperately poor. I called the embassy and told them that I would fund the boy’s education. The response I got was that there were thousands of boys like him and that I should donate to this or that charity. I realized then that a lot of those charities were scams because most of the money went for ‘administrative costs’. So the programs are run for the benefit of the people running the program and not the children who really need the money.
I often wonder about that boy, is he still alive?
I’m afraid I can’t answer your question. Perhaps you can contact the Red Cross or some other reputable organization to get direct answers. I would suggest you wait until the dust settles somewhat because sometimes children just separated from their parents in the chaos, are taken out of the country as ‘orphans’

If you have to ask this question on Yahoo! Answers, I’m guessing you really aren’t ready to adopt a child. If you were serious about this, you would know the proper channels to go through to adopt one of the orphans from Haiti.

“Angelina’s got one, Madonna’s got one, now you want one!!!

Why adopt from another country??? There 1000’s of kids here in the united states that need adopted and you want to pass them up for a baby that’s not even American like you? Let me put it this way you have lots of burgers at your house but you want to go to your neighbors to get more that taste the same that you don’t even need???

I’m going to guess from the way you type that you’re about 12.
Therefore, you’re not old enough to adopt a child. So just donate money.
